A great recording. Matt Lavelle and Ras Moshe are at their peak on this wonderful document. It should be available on Itunes or through Cadence. They could use the support. When I last talked to either of them they still had day jobs.
While I love both men’s playing they rarely get a representative recording out. Mostly CDRs. Check Matt’s work on Silkheart for another great session.
All of the players on this recording have performed around NYC for years and it is live where I have seen Ras Moshe really excell. If you are in NYC you might want to check to see if he is doing any gigs. (Try the Brecht Forum).
Yeah i really think blogging is not a way for piracy but for diffusion, call me naive but i really think if people likes something they support the musicians, i hope there will be readers able to go there, or ake a look if they are close to their towns unfortunately i’m not since i don’t live in NY or even the US, . On my part i can say i’ll always go to concerts if are close to my city, and actually i’m already planning a trip to boston where some cousin lives, actually i was invited to live there, so as soon as possible i’ll go there and believe i’m going to be an attending-to-gigs machine, boston scene is not that bad and boston isn’t too far from NY maybe i’ll stay some time wiht my cousin and then chance to NY, believe i would love to live there just for the great jazz scene.
